Competition organiser – magazine and website “Statyba ir architektūra” (SA.lt). It is the second organized competition, which is intended for the urban spaces of Elektrenai municipality. In order to implement wooden architecture projects by adapting them, both for the municipality-planned spaces and for architects who work or intend to start working with appliance of wood in architectural solutions.

 

1. Main goal of the competition – present the newest trends in wooden buildings, and act as a mediator between the municipality and the architects, as well, seek faster implementation of sustainable development.

 

2. Duration of the competition: 2022 October 17th – 2023 March 1st.

Renovation of already existing buildings in order to form a united territory block.

A) Innovative reconstruction and block renovation (with wooden elements) + new construction, complementary to the existing situation

B) Urban solutions for sustainable block development: effective development of existing urban areas, adapted for the needs of new urban blocks.

 

Note: the results are assessed including part A and B.

  • General requirements for the project
  • Competitors prepare project proposals in the territory, proposed by the municipality of Elektrenai
  • For the renovation elements and buildings’ structure use engineered wood products, that are assembled in the factories into easily transportable wooden panels or modular elements.
  • Reinforced concrete elements can appear in the buildings’ structure as additional support elements, i.e. staircases, 1st floor construction
  • While the new fire safety regulations for wooden buildings are still being prepared in Lithuania, the fire safety requirements in effect in Sweden, one of the leading countries in high-rise wooden construction, should be applied as guidelines.
  • New or renovated buildings must meet the newest energy class and acoustic requirements
  • Sustainability aspects such as the use of materials with EPD declarations are considered an advantage.

Complete competition project consists of: buildings’ facades, characteristic sections on the scale of 1:100 or 1:200, visualizations, and possible modular structures – configuration and position of buildings in the site (scale 1:500). Submit in digital format, with the possibility to print at least two 70×100 cm panels. An explanatory note in Lithuanian (optional for foreigners) and English languages in Word format is presented separately.

 

   6. Prize fund:

First place:

2000 Eur,

2 pages publication in “Statyba ir architektūra” magazine and SA.lt website, “Statyba ir architektūra” certificate.

 

Second place:

1000 Eur,

2 pages publication in “Statyba ir architektūra” magazine and SA.lt website, “Statyba ir architektūra” certificate.

Third place:

500 Eur,

2 pages publication in “Statyba ir architektūra” magazine and SA.lt website, “Statyba ir architektūra” certificate.
